  • About Me

I'm happily married with 6 fur-babies! (2 dogs and 4 cats and they are all special needs.) My life is dedicated to helping animals in some way or another. I've practically made a full time job out of couponing. I've been doing this for a little over a year and I'm addicted! It seems to always amaze people how much I'm able to get for very little money so I thought it'd be nice to share! It is very time consuming but worth every penny saved! I also hope to help new couponers get into the game!

Walgreens, Walmart & Publix

Published by couponanimal at 3:31 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

It was a chaotic trip to Wags today. I ended up going to 2 different ones. Neither of them had the rebate items I planned on purchasing. Some of my coupons didn’t work b/c the cashier used a coupon that printed while I was checking out. I was screaming “No!” in my head. I wanted to say, “Don’t you realize how long it takes me to plan these things out..you just cost me $4.75!” Those q’s were worth less than the ones I had already. And I picked up the wrong rebate makeup…oops… Then he rang up an product twice. It was just a mess! I ended up returning stuff blah blah. In the end I spent $11.45 and saved $83.36. That was what I set out to spend but I didn’t get all of the things I had anticipated. Oh well…here are the details. I have combined the 2 transactions into 1 to make things easier for everyone reading!

Walgreens
(1)Reynolds aluminum foil 1.69 - .70wags q - 1.00 q = -.01 overage
(1)Hallmark box of cards 4.99 - 3.75 (clearance) = 1.24
(2)Motrin IB 165ct 25.98 -8.00 wags q - (2)4.00 q = 9.98
(2)Listerine 14.58 - 6.00 wags q - 1.00 q = 7.58 (Grrrr…q he used mine were for $2)
(2)Splenda 8.98 - 3.00 wags q - (2)3.00 q = -.02 overage
(6)South Beach 6pk Protein Bars 15.00 -(5)2.00 = 5.00 ($5.50 wags rebate)
(3)Hunts tomato sauce 2.97 -1.97 wags q = 1.00
(1)Airwick Candle 9.99 - 5.00 q = 4.99 ($3.30 wags rebate)
-(2) 10.00 RR

Total including tax: $11.45; Saved: $83.36

*I will get $8.80 back in wags rebates also!

Walmart
(2)A&H Baking Soda 1.08 - $1/2 q = .08
(1)Coffeemate 1.48 - 1.00q = .48
(1)Parchment Paper 3.16 - 1.75q = 1.41

Total including tax: $1.62; Savings: 4.32

Publix
(3.7lb)Red Delicious Apples 4.77 - 2.00q = 2.77
(.63lb)Bananas .43
(.75lb)Provolone Cheese 6.22 -2.00q = 4.22
(3)Pasta Roni 2.63 (sale B1G1F) -(2)1.00q = .63
(3)Rice A Roni 2.63 (sale B1G1F) -1.00q = 1.63

Total including tax: $9.92; Saved: $14.07
*Publix accepts competitor coupons. So I used my Food Lion coupons there instead of making a trip out there to buy the cheese and produce.

I now have my YTD spending/savings located under the “About Me” section! I will update this throughout the year as I shop and save! Enjoy!

I did not know abt Publix accepting other store’s coupons! I’ll have to take advantqage of that! Do you ever factor in the amount you spend on gas when figuring up costs and savings? Since you live in the middle of no where you really rack up the miles.

Yeah, this is the 1st time I’ve used a competitor’s coupon there. I’ve seen the signs but never really thought about it. Thought it would be too much hassle but they have a button right on their register for competitor q! Pretty neat!
And yes, it does rack up the miles…that’s why I only go out of town once a week. Depending on the sales and if there’s something specific we need. Some weeks I stick to our po-dunk town. I plan my shopping lists and do it all in 1 trip. My savings far outweigh what I’ve spent on gas.
