  • About Me

I'm happily married with 6 fur-babies! (2 dogs and 4 cats and they are all special needs.) My life is dedicated to helping animals in some way or another. I've practically made a full time job out of couponing. I've been doing this for a little over a year and I'm addicted! It seems to always amaze people how much I'm able to get for very little money so I thought it'd be nice to share! It is very time consuming but worth every penny saved! I also hope to help new couponers get into the game!

1st Official 2009 Savings Day

Published by couponanimal at 8:04 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I have picked up a few deals already for this week. They are small b/c I must admit I’m a little burnt from the holiday chaos. I had a couple of trips that were “just need to my coupons before they expire” trips. So the deals weren’t quite as sweet, but I did okay. I ventured into Food Lion for the 1st time also and was very pleased.
And just when I thought my shopping for snacks was over…it’s bowl game season!

I am only going to list my FL trip for now since I’m very short on time today. I’ll list the others a little later in the week.

Food Lion:
(1) FL brand 2L soda 0.79
(1) Canadry Dry 2L 1.59 (sale price)
(1) 7 up 2L 1.00 (sale price)
(1) Diet 7up 2L 1.00 (sale price)
(1) Gatorade 8 pack powder mix 2.00 (sale price)
(1) Country Crock 4 pack sticks 1.39
(4) Sargento’s Mozzarella 1lb shredded 11.98 (sale price - B1G1 Free)
(1) Dozen Eggs 1.49
(3) Lbs ground beef 5.64

Q’s used:
B1G2 free Canada Dry/7 up - 2.58 (FL Q)
FL Eggs $1/1 -1.00 (FL Q)
Country Crock $1/1 -1.00 (FL Q)
(2) Sargento $1/2 - 2.00
Country Crock .25/1 -.25
Gatorade $1/1 - 1.00

Total before sales and q’s: 41.21
Minus sale prices - 14.46
Minus q’s -7.83
Total OOP including tax 19.16; Saved 22.29

I always feel I’ve done well when I’ve saved more than I’ve spent. I thought this was a decent trip considering I got 4 lbs of cheese, 3 lbs of meat, butter and eggs for less than $20. A basic break down I only paid .49 for a dozen eggs and .14 for 4 sticks of butter. I matched up my FL Qs with MFR Qs to save more.
